Hello,
Hi, I have a Gateway Solo 5150 Laptop.. When I turn it on, it gives me a a message saying that there is no operation system found, It has everything intact, physically.. They told me i have to install and re-format it with the factory settings using a system -restoring cd.. Is this the case? if so, how could i find that cd. I bought the laptop used with no instillation cd's or factory settings. thank you very much!

Dear Sam,
Yes you need an operating system even to access the factory settings.
One should never buy a computer without the CD's.
You must now purchase an operating system like Windows or perhaps that you can download Linux free.
Good luck

Do not confuse software and operating system.
An operating system will permit your software to run.
Here is a free and most popular operating system. I suggest you read all the documentation before your attempt to install it.
It is an excellent operating system and free:
https://ubuntu.com/
Good luck
