Hello,
I had my external hard drive connected to my friends mac to put some music on, and now when I plug it into my pc it won't show any of the files, his or the ones i had on it originally. It still shows all the memory is filled that my files took up and I tried showing hidden files. If anyone knows what went wrong it would be greatly appreciated.

The Mac and PC use different file formats. If he reformatted your drive using Mac formatting then you will not be able to read it.

Try the free software at www.easeus.com - it might be able to recover the old partition.
Good Luck

Next time make sure that you have a partition formatted in FAT32. That is the only common format that the Mac and PC can read/write.
