IPod Nano 4th Generation White Screen help!!!

some guy wrote that to fix the white screen of death u do this....

Hey I just learned how to fix the white screen of death all you do is hold the home button then while still holding down the home button hold volume up button then while still holding those buttons go head and hold the power off button and hold that until you see the apple sign and THIS REALLY WORKS SO TRY IT

but im not sure what he meant by the volume up button...., thats all I need, thanks.
