"select operating system to start" frozen

Hello,

The computer in Microsoft XP, and when I turn on the computer it goes to the black screen with white lettering saying:
Please select the operating system to start:
Window XP Media Center Edition
Microsoft Windows Recovery Console

--The screen is frozen and none of the keys or mouse will work to select anything. Not sure what to do, so frustrating.
I have also tried turning the computer off and the same thing has happened each time.

remove everything but the screen and power from your tower and try turning it on.

if it fails, keep pressing F8 on start up until you get to the advanced boot option.

select "last good know configuration"

if this fails then repeat and select safe mode.

once in, use system restore to restore to an earlier time.

possible installation error.

may need to perform windows repair.

Hello,

My cursor is frozen, the touchpad does not work. I connected external mouse through USB port and it worked fine.

Hello! I have a Toshiba laptop that I've had for about 2 years. The cursor has recently became frozen or disappears altogether. I've tried using F5 and it does nothing. I've turned my laptop on and off and it still won't work. I downloaded an antivirus software to make sure there wasn't some sort of virus on my laptop preventing the mouse from working as well, and that still didn't fix it. I've discovered if I hold down the left click button and drag, the mouse will work, but that's the only time and it's extremely aggravating. Does anyone know anything else I can do that I haven't already tried that will solve this problem? Please help me if you can. I need my computer for college and I hav...

Hello,
I am needing some advice I have been trying to connect my playstation2 to my laptop via the networking
plugs the 8 wire ones I gather is ethernet but im not sure, now I want the ps2 to connect to my mobile broadband.
so when I open network connections after connecting ps2 it shows four connections two in dial up one being vodafone mobile which is what I use for the net and is 3g and a disconnected 3g one by the same company, now in the LAN or high speed internet section there are two other connects, one is a wireless network connection obviously WiFi but the other is the playstation I guess and it is named Local area connection under that it says

Toshiba Satellite mouse pad stopped working

Hello,

I was using my Toshiba Satellite and it froze up. I turned it off and then back on and my mouse pad stopped working. My cursur will move and highlight an icon but will not follow the command when clicked. I tried the function key and f9 and nothing.

Thank you for any help provided.

I have access to my keypad and my mouse. The touchpad does not work. the light that locks that touchpad is on - but whne I click F5 it does not go off (I also tried FN+F5, ALT+F5, CTRL+F5...)
I have restarted my system and the light is still on.
Any other ideas?
