Hello,

I have a Dell Inspiron 1564 that wont power on, even the screen wont back lit. i get a single one second blink of the charge LED when connected to the power supply (with/without battery) .. if the battery alone is connected i see nothing at all, the power adapter working fine and tested on another inspiron. am in a country where I cant find a trusted technician that i can give this to, I am suspecting the motherboard to be the problem but i cant confirm this. all help is appreciated. also is there a way I can get the schematics of the motherboard so I can try and find the fault and replace it (if the mainboard is the problem)?

Thanks

Hi, it may be a problem with the switch, or the power supply controller which is hard to solve .

I have checked the power on button, seems to function correctly, I was told to check the power IC but I can't do that without schematics or at least another working board to compare to,

If an to understand you, I should get a new mainbored?

Thanks
