Hello, Trying to recover hidden partition on a Gateway M1625. C Drive has been formatted however the Recovery drive is intact. I can hook up to my desktop and see the drives available. Is there some 3rd party software that I can use to kick start the recovery program? I have tried Alt + F10 this takes me to chose your drive and then restarts the puter. Tried Alt + F11 which does nothing at all. tried F8 and can get in but 3 safe mode choices do not work. Obviously using last known good doesn't work. Someone has suggested clicking repair but that doesn't exist.

I have multiple XP Pro Install disks which won't install for some reason. I'd like to get this thing running before the weekend since it is for a friend's kid for Christmas.

Thanks for any help.

here are the Gateway instructions:

Select models have the ability to have the Operating System reinstalled from a hidden drive built into the computer.

To start the Gateway Recovery:

Tap the Alt and F10 keys togther during the Power-On Self-Test (POST) while the Gateway logo is being displayed.
If prompted with a boot screen, press the Enter key.
After the Gateway Recovery program has loaded follow the prompts to reinstall the Operating System.

If the ability to reinstall from the previous method is not available or fails during the recovery, recovery of the Operating System will need to be from Gateway Recovery Media. In order to recover the computer using Gateway Recovery Media an external optical disc drive may be required if the computer does not have an internal optical disc drive.
