Toshiba Satellite RAM

My Toshiba Satellite has been suffering a lot of issues lately. First off, it has had the black screen where the fix is to take out the battery and let the static charge out. It has been working for a while, until two weeks ago. In the morning, I turned it on and it worked, but the battery was at 0%, meaning I had to keep it plugged in. Then the next day and until now, it hasn't worked but only once. My co worker tried it out by taking out the 2 GB RAM stick and he said it worked temporarily. I wonder what the problem is because I got a replacement and it never worked with that one either. Please help me and thank you in advance.
