Hi I have a compaq laptop, notebook. I am having problems with getting the screen to come on. I thought maybe the screen had went out but when I hooked a desktop monitor to it, it still will not work....I'm wondering if it is a booting problem. Please help I don't want to go to the library to do my homework..... :)

Hi,
have you tried the trick of removing the battery and pressing on holding the power button for 60 seconds then reseat back the battery followed by the power adapter?If not then try it as well as remove your cleaning the copper plated surface with either a piece of cloth with some alcohol or use a rubber eraser.
