Hello,

I had just purchased a laptop for a friend, but she says when she turns on her laptop, it says it needs a boot disk. I am not able to figure out the problem myself, as I am in another country at the moment. I've bought a few laptops before but have never had this issue. This is her first laptop and this was the first time she has tried starting it up since she got it about a week ago. I had ordered it through Amazon if that helps any. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hello,

You have probably purchased a laptop without an operating system installed.

When I had purchased it, the technical details state it has Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

If a boot disk is needed it's because the operating system does not respond and only a boot disk can get the laptop going again. Windows 7 boot disk may be purchased.

Good luck

P.S. I believe that you purchased a lemon and that the vendor made a false declaration.
