Hello

You sound card is a Realtek AC 97.

If there are yellow exclamation marks beside any one of the audio devices, it isn't working or the driver has not been installed correctly. Remove the faulty device using remove tab, and then go to the WINDOWS\INF\OTHER directory and delete the REALTEK*.INF file.

You can now re-start the system to install the driver again or simply install through "add new hardware" from the control panel.

Good luck

Of course it will work with Vista, it's not an OS issue but a driver issue which came about when you upgraded. Just make sure you delete the correct file and none other.

Let me know

P.S. I detest Vista.

i have just had a look on the motherboard instructions, all it says about audio is this,

* Compliant with AC'97 v2.3 CODEC
* Supports 6-channel audio CODEC designed for PC multimedia systems
* Provides three analogue line-level stereo inputs with 5-bit volume control:
Line-in, CD, AUX
* Meets Microsoft WHQL/WLP 2.0 audio requirements

How do i update this so it will work on vista?

Ryanraz,

You just made my day! Great!

Now, please, create a chain, pay to the next, like help someone else and so on, like you help an old lady to cross the street...anything...donate a kidney.
