Connecting to internet through USB stick

Hello,

I have bought a new laptop and I want to access internet so I bought a broadband USB stick but I can't access internet. I just plug it into a USB port and try to browse the pages but cannot.

please list down the steps

Using a usb stick as modem or to connect to the internet, wow! i think this is never possible. because we get the internet from an isp, without the isp in the usb stick you can never get connected to the internet.

then i think there is a problem with the isp. so check that out
