Hi ziasohail,
You might see this message when the Optical Drive (CD/DVD drive) is not detected by the System Setup or BIOS. As you have not mentioned whether your computer is a Desktop or a Laptop. I am providing you the steps for a Desktop computer. If you have a laptop computer do reply with the Model Number.
Try the below mentioned steps and see if the issue is fixed:
1. Check in the BIOS if the Optical Drive is listed in the IDE or SATA devices.
2. If it is not listed try to reseat the Optical Drive i.e., disconnect the Optical Drive from the machine and then put it back in its place.
3. If the Optical Drive is still not detected try a different data cable and also a different power connector form the power supply.
4. If the above step fails, try connecting this Optical drive to a friend's computer (if any).
5. If the optical drive works fine in the other computer then the problem is with the Optical Drive cable or the motherboard and needs replacement. Replace first the Optical Drive cable only. Additionally, you can try the Optical Drive from your friend's computer in your computer.
6. If the Optical Drive is not detected in another computer this indicates the Optical Drive is faulty and needs to be replaced.
Note: before you open the computer chassis, ensure that all the power connection from the computer is disconnected and all external devices are also disconnected.
Do reply with results.
