Hello,
I have a gateway sa1 laptop about 4 years old, never had a problem until recently.
When I turn it on, the fan comes on & runs, it checks the dvd drive & then nothing.
It doesn't have a cursor or anything on the screen, the hard drive indicator does not come on, it just sits there & runs but you can't do anything. I have tried all the resetting tricks I have seen on this forum, I have tried putting a cd in the drive (it does nothing), I can't find my restore disc. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

Welcome,
Remove the residual power from the computer and check if it works.
To remove residual power, disconnect the power cable and battery from the computer. Press and hold the power button down for 20 seconds. Connect only power cable to the computer and check if it boots
