My Toshiba Satellite Pro c650 has just gone dead and will not start.
It has momentarily started twice but only got 30 seconds into the start up cycle and then the screen goes dead.
Each time it is running off the Toshiba power adapter. I've tried it of the battery only and the same happens, even with the battery out and the power on only, the same happens.
In all incidences, the green light at the front edge of the laptop is on, but never the orange battery charger light.
Each time you try to start it up now the screen flashes from black to white for a split second before going black again.
My uneducated guess is that it could either be the adapter/lead or the laptop battery.
If anyone can help shed light on the problem, I'd very much appreciate it.
Thanks for your reply. In answer to your questions:

Have you tried to:
1. Remove the battery - Yes
2. Remove the cable - Yes

4. Plug the cable and boot. - Yes
Do you think the harddrive and contents will be retrievable?
