Hello,

I've got quite an interesting problem with my computer system(xp pro sp2). The last two months it was shut down. now i started it up and, first of all, checked the available security updates. After system check it showed me 22 updates, with a total size of about 330 mbs. when they were installed, there appeared the question wether i would restart it now or later. i chose "restart now" and after a few seconds it switched off normally. i tried many times to restart it but always fails after about five seconds. And unfortunately the screen never shows anything except black.

hope anyone of you got advice..

bonsoir

join the safe mode, like this:
when you start your computer you press many time f8 or f5
and you arrive on a screen with choices, have a look.

after you repair.

if the computer doesn't start even in safe mode
you start with the cd windows and repair it.

visits on top off page FAQ/OPERATING SYSTEME/WINDOWS......

if not try with linux with a cd live ubuntu to start the computer.

look on google:my computer don't start windows.

look on google:cd live linux or cd live ubuntu.

or post a new message on LINUX SUPPORT windows does not start, explain me how to use a cd live ubuntu?

;)
