No sound from internet - Tried many things...Closed

Question

I have Windows XP SP3 and I have no volume at all in Firefox, Chrome or IE. 

I've been looking for a solution to this issue for a very long time now, and I've tried everything I can find, most of which can be found on the following links.

Of course, I've also tried all of the normal common sense stuff... Cables, volume settings (internet, hardware, windows, drivers, codecs etc.) and everything else I can think of but no solution has worked yet. 

Any help is appreciated...

Thanks for the assist, but no luck at this point... I followed the steps, checked, restarted and checked again... Still nothing.

I may just have to go to drastic measure mode... I'll toss the computer out the window and go down to see if it's making any sounds...
