Hi guys,

My ASUS X50 notebook refuses to charge the battery.

When I have it plugged to AC without battery, it does not work.

When I have it plugged to AC with battery, it does work, but just for the very little remaining power. 2 minutes.

I am trying to figure out if the battery needs to be on to be able to work on AC or not.

I basically need to know if there is a battery or charger problem.

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Try this 1

You should be able to start your laptop with the help of your power cord supply

even when you have removed the battery.

Make sure that your power cord is working and able to give the required output

voltage. If there is any problem with the power cord supply then the battery

won't get charged and you can't even start the laptop with it by removing the

battery.

Good Luck

I had the same issue. In device manager, uninstall the all the items that you can under battery. reboot and let the changes get detected and reinstall the driver automatically. It worked after that for me.
