Black bands? Sounds like it has something to do with the display, which would be in control panel, thats never happened to me when i plugged my laptop into a t.v. though, you used a video out cable yeah?

I used the cable with nine pins not sure what its called. It use to be ok the first few times the screen would go back to normal when i disconnected the tv but now it's just not going back!
