Hello,
Day before yesterday I went to an internet cafe and got some files printed by my memory card of my mobile. there my card was scanned by any antivirus and now my images, music, and videos folders are missing however the memory card shows same amount of memory space used. also there are now some unusable files and folders created, an unnamed foder is created and it contains all the folder that have been deleted like images, music etc but these folder doesnt have any file. Also some unusable files have been created named "USBCê{Kà" and these show 1.35 gb space, these files cannot be cut, copied or deleted.

I was going to format my memory cars but I got a hint that files are there as when anyone calls there pictures flash on my mobile but I cannot find those pics on my memory card.

please help me to recover my files...hope to see a reply soon..thanx in advance

Hey I got all the files. I removed my memory card and then inserted it, windows prompt to scan and fix the drive and I did that. it took almost more than half n hour but after that all those unusable file and folders were removed. now I did your alternative method and got my files but the problem now is files are in .CHK format and it's not ossible to convert all of them manually one by one as it's more than 1000 files. Help me out of this..and really thanx..thanx a lot.

Thank you, KrAkki 2

Hello,

Try this 1

Make sure that the files are not in hidden mode.

Follow all the steps given below

1) Disable the "Autoplay" feature. Click on the below link "Disable Autoplay",

and download the file --> Double-click on it and follow the instructions.

Disable Autoplay

2) Disable the "Autorun.inf". Click on the below link and follow the instructions.

First backup your registry. Click on Start --> Run --> Type regedt32 and

press Enter.

[If you are using Windows 7 then click on Start --> In search bar, type

regedt32 and press Enter]

"Registry Editor" will be opened.

Now backup your registry by going to "File --> Export" --> Save the file with

any name in your desired location.

Copy the text starting from "REGEDIT4" upto @="@SYS:DoesNotExist"

REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\IniFileMapping\Autorun.inf]
@="@SYS:DoesNotExist"

Open a "Notepad" --> Paste it --> Save the file as fix.reg

Note: Don't forget the extension "reg"

Now double-click on the fix.reg file and then click on "Yes" to merge it,

[Note : After following the above instructions, whenever you place any autoplay

CD\DVD all you have to do is go to "My Computer" --> Open the CD\DVD drive

--> You have to double-click on the setup file.]

3) Click on the below link and download the file "AutorunExterminator"

http://ccm.net/download/download-11613-autorun-exterminator

Extract it --> Double-click on "AutorunExterminator".

This will remove the autorun.inf files from drives.

[Note : AutorunExterminator need Dot Net Framework. If its not installed in

your laptop then click on the below hyperlink ".NET Framework" and download it

.NET Framework]

4) Click on "Start" --> Run --> Type cmd and press Enter.

[If you are using Windows 7 then click on Start --> In search bar, type cmd

--> When cmd (Command Prompt) appears in the search list, right-click on it

and select "Run as Administrator"]

"Command Prompt" will be opened.

Here I assume your drive letter as G:

Enter this command.

attrib -h -r -s /s /d g:\*.*

You can copy the above command --> Right-click in the Command Prompt and

paste it.

Note : Replace the letter g with your drive letter.

Now check for your files in that drive.

5) After that, download the "Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free" from the below

hyperlink "Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free"

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free

Update it --> Perform "Full Scan"

Note : Default selected option is "Quick Scan".

Good Luck

Didn't worked, I did everything till the registry and run the autorun exterminator but after that in command prompt it says that the target of the symbolic link J:\USBCê{Kà. does not exist.
Similarly for the other unusable folders and files.

what to do now..??

Hello,
Try this 1
Make sure that you have ran the attrib command correctly. Try once again.
Also make sure that you have followed the step 5
Alternative Method :
Try the below instructions to make sure that the files are not in hidden mode.
Click on Start --> In search box, type control folders and press Enter.
[If you are using Windows XP then type control folders in Run and press Enter]
"Folder Options" will be opened. Click on the "View" tab.
Now select the option "Show hidden files, folders or drives" and uncheck the
check box "Hide protected operating system files" --> Click on "OK" button.
Now look for your files in your external drive.
Later undo the changes you have made by once again going to "Folder Options"
--> Click on "View" tab and click on "Restore Defaults" button --> Click on "OK".
Good Luck
