Hi there,
on my HP PAVILLION DV6000, i start the laptop, it turns on... i can hear the fan spin.. the lights comes on but the screen is blank.
i read that unplugging the cable and the removing battery... pressing power button for 30-60 seconds and then plug the power cord back.
i tried it but it didnt work
i even removed the ram out of the slots and cleaned them and put in one at a time but to no avail..
i tried connecting to external monitor - nothing
i even removed the HD to see if i got some error or sumthing on the screen but nothing
pls help

Hello,

Your lamps or your inverter may be grilled. I suggest a check by a hand-ons qualified technician.

Good luck

anything that is done by a technician is going to be so expensive here that if i pay a bit more money,.... i can buy a new//.. but lower model laptop. so right now im not looking to do that until i have done everything possible.

this happened over night and NOT over time.... Last night it was working perfectly.. shut the laptop and in the morning it just did not work....

so if some one can help me by telling me or advising me what i can do... it will be much appreciated

peace.

If you take it, let's say to Future Shop or Best Buy, you can at least get them to confirm or not my diagnostic and that should not cost you a cent. You could get an estimate for repair. Suppose it's just the graphic card ? You could get a new video card for a few bucks. Have you tried to plug it into another monitor ? If you get nothing on the other monitor, it could be the card. If you get something it could be your screen.

Good luck

If you got nothing with another monitor, then you graphic card could be fried and may need to be replaced.

Sorry
