Last night ny laptop kept freezing part way through watching something on bbc iplayer. I had to do a forced shut down twice. I then tried to turn it on and the screen stayed blank. The lights were on and the engine or fan running but not with the usual boot up energy. I've tried to do a hard reboot twice with no success! It is five years old in February so I dont know if it's just old or if there's something I can do. Please can you suggwst some solution or recommend a place to take it in central London. Many thanks

Greetings,

It may be due to residual flea power

Try this:

1. Remove the battery and cable.

2. Press and hold the power button for 58 seconds.

3. Replug the cable and start the lappy.

Good luck

Then put a flea colar around the screen or give it a hot soapy bath !-:)

Seriously, since you can hear the lappy boot, try connecting your lappy to an external monitor, it's the only way to find out if your graphic card fried or if your screen may need a repair.
