Toshiba laptop will not boot up

all i get when powering up is the power light and the battery light the hard drive light blinks but goes out and i hear the fan running but just get a black screen. i have a Toshiba model L455-S5000 RUNNING WINDOWS 7

This could be a problem with the Lithium ion battery. Replace it with another one and if the problem still persists then check with a technician.
