when i connect pc monitor to my laptop dell vostro through VGA port ,it is detected but nothing is diplayed on the pc monitor same thing can be happened in dell inspiron also..?

plz explain me how to add external display to my laptop ...?

The VGA port is not activated until you press the PF key that turns it on.
