I watch movies from my laptop through my Yamaha receiver to the TV. After about 30 minutes of viewing the sound will crash, just a ton of white noise. I restart the laptop and do it all again. I have used different media players and have uninstalled the Intel(R) HDMI software and downloaded the same and installed again. Still having the same problem. This also happens when connected directly to the TV. Have also tried it with a second TV and different HDMI cord. Any suggestions?

OK, hang in there.
First off, HDMI is not a standard. What doee that mean? Not all HDMI devices HAVE to work tegether. So, if you had all "widget" electronics, more than likely HDMI would not be an issue.
A good quality cable would be the next option, but you said you have already tried another cable. If it is the same type, try a higher quality, shorter cable.
