Ok hang in there, the auto update for the browser is a big headache.
Go into your control panel, pragrams. Click on the updates tab, and locae the IE version you are speaking of. Once you have clicked on it, a button should show up that says uninstall. Keep rebooting and uninstalling until you get to the version you wish. Stay on top of it, as the MS man tries to update every TUESDAY (at least in my neighborhood!).
