Acer Aspire 5551 won't start up.

I have an Acer Aspire 5551 and it won't load up. It's not a battery problem, I'm no expert but assume it must be hard drive related. It gets to the Starting Windows screen but then tells me I need to Launch Startup Repair. When I do that it checks my computer for problems but soon after says it can't repair this computer automatically. When I view Problem Details it lists a number of Problem Signatures. Most don't make sense to me but one says AutoFailover and another says Bad Patch.

It was working fine until the other night, it was loading updates when I shut it down and took quite a while but I waited for this to happen before closing it down. Could it be linked to this?

Any advice gratefully received. As ever there are pictures and music I don't want to lose on there if possible. I seem to be going round in circles and not getting anywhere! Thanks.
