No sound at all

Hello,
My dear advisers please help me on this my laptop when I try playing a DVD cd it plays very well but i don't get any or here any sound from it and when I try playing sample music on my laptop again it tells me no device installed but some time back i used to play all the music on my laptop and I could get sound very well What could be the problem?

The driver is obviously not working, it will be somewhere on the manufacturers website, they usually have a way of inputting your make and model and they will show you all the drivers you will need.
