Black Laptop Screen After Unplugging from HDMI Cable and TV

Hi!
I have a Toshiba laptop using windows 8. I plugged it into a friend's TV using an HDMI cable to watch a movie. I unplugged the laptop from the cable afterwards and now all I get is a black screen on my laptop. How can I fix this? I no longer have the HDMI cable (it was borrowed). Thanks very much!!

Try hitting all the Function keys F3 -> F5 to find which one controls the switching from external monitor to internal.
