My iPod just went dead

Hi Please help
My Ipod which I adore just went dead! I tried restarting it and I tried holding down power button. I read somewhere to hold power button along with menu button but the problem is that my push button had stopped working a while ago. I also have it plugged into my PC and nothing it had a full charge.
What can you advise? Soooo Sad!

1 - Simultaneously press the top button + home button.
2 - Keep both buttons until the Apple appears.
3 - Then release only the top button but still hold the home button pressed.
4 - The iPod goes into recovery mode and then you can restore it via iTunes

Oh my dear I just totally flipped out cause my iPod was charging then it just died, Thank you so much!!!
