Computer Frozen

The screen display will come on with the start menu bar across the bottom, but an error (something along the lines of Lx34...) box appears and the loading circle stays on. The screen otherwise is black. The dispaly remains frozen this way until the battery is taken out and plug is unplugged (will restart after this and have the same result). Have tried using Ctrl+atl+delete but that does nothing. The computer is only 2 years old
