Hey there Sebz. I'm sorry to hear you're having such issues with your drive. First, I'd recommend that you try it with a different computer and a different USB cable (not longer than 12") to see if the same thing happens. I'd suggest that you see if it's recognized in Disk Management and if "yes", what does it say about the partition and the drive? You could try to assign it a new letter to see if it's recognized this way. Here's how to do that: https://support-en.wd.com/
Just click on the corresponding OS and follow the instructions.
Hope that helps.

The link helped me get to the device management and all and my computer see's the disk, but it wasn't initialized. I tried to initialize it but every time I tired it, it said "I/O Device Error". Any help with that?

If you don't need any data recovered I'd suggest that you try testing the drive with DLG (Data Lifeguard Diagnostic) to see if the drive has any hardware issues: https://support.wdc.com/downloads.aspx?DL and contact our customer support to ask for assistance: https://support.wdc.com/contact.aspx?lang=
