External speakers

Hello,
I have a dell insperon cpu and I cannot get any audio from the dell external speakers I am using. They worked perfectly before the cpu took a c**p and I had the whole thing set back to factory.
Is there anything I can do short of buying new software that probably not work?

Did you try downloading the audio driver from Dell?
