My daughter has a Toshiba Satellite C660 which was working fine up to yesterday. Now when you switch it on it runs through the start up routine 'loading windows' and then displays the blue background screen (home screen?) but goes no further. Not sure if the hard disk is broken but was wondering whether anyone else has experienced this.
Wasn't too sure where to post this so I opted for the Windows 7 area as that is what the laptop is running. Or not in this case!
Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

The first thing to try is a Windows Repair. Either from a Win 7 Repair disk or the original Windows DVD. You will want to change the boot order so you boot from the optical disk (CD/DVD). Then select the Repair option.
If all goes well the repair programs will fix the problem. If not then you might need to reinstall Windows.
Good Luck
