Is this email address dodgy??

I was chatting to someone online,seemed genuine enough,and we exchanged emails...mine is just the average,old fashioned msn.com I have had for years but my new friend said that when he tried to email me he was declined, so could I email him at an email address ending in @hotmail.39.com now I have NEVER came across this type of email address before...please can someone tell me if this is a scam email? This may sound daft, but I am concerned,thanks.

I never hear of it.. if you think it is spam.. didn't send e-mail to that id..
