Hi Nicky,
Does the drive have a proper file format? I recommend you to enter in Disk Management and see how the drive is listed. Is it possible that your files are hidden? Open the Command Prompt and type
attrib -h -r -s /s /d g:\*.* . I leave you some more details in the link below. I strongly recommend you to try your drive on another PC and with another USB cable.
