Hello,

I bought an iPod classic 5th gen. I installed iTunes and after that I plugged my iPod and the driver starts installing. After a few seconds I get a blue screen and my laptop restarts. Windows restarts just fine, I open iTunes and it doesn't see it. I reinstalled iTunes a couple of times but nothing. I plug it in and it is not even recognized by windows. I mean it shows up in Device Manager as a mass storage device and that's all.

The ipod is disk enabled. Google up turning off disk enabled.

SO iTunes finally sees the iPod and I am waiting to restore it. It's been 20 minutes. Is it ok if it takes and still restoring. Is this normal?

OK...so my iTunes library is empty. I put the iPod in disk mode I waited 7 hours for restoring and nothing happened. I reinstalled iTunes a couple of time...nothing happened. It gets recognized and it says I should restore it. 7 hours later...still restoring. What else should I do?

It shouldn't be in disk mode! In disk mode the ipod is a big USB Memory stick.
