Touch bar for sound shows mute while the on screen says not mute

Hello,
I have a HP Pavilion 1330.
My touch bar for sound shows mute while the on screen says not muted.
when i mute on screen the touchpad shows active... and so on...
They are reversed and I am getting no sound!!!
any suggestions?

what do you mean by touch bar?

Hey! What I mean is there is a bar on top of keyboard that controls my volume, has mute, and wifi on/off button.... the buttons turn orange when they are muted or off. but when the mute should be orange its blue and when it should be blue its orange... its not matching up with my onscreen controls.

Hello jc ,
I did not get the link.. anyhow did you have updated drivers in your pc..?
Instead of keyboard options what is the outcome of your volume when you use your mouse?(touch pad)
