Cpu is running but monitor turn black

Hello,
i having a problem for few days cpu is running but my monitor turn black i can even listen to the sound. but when i turn of the monitor button and turn switch on & off it comes back again i could not able to find the problem
please help ..
i am running on window 8.1 64 bit

Try to connect external monitor to your cpu if it happen like the same as before then it may be your graphic or power related issue if the external one works good then it may be monitor issue!
