Hi SpudRum,
I recommend you to go to Disk Management and check if the drive is detected there. Does it have a file format and a drive letter? If the drive is missing, go to Device Manager. The drive should be listed under the USB devices. Uninstall it, restart the PC and plug the hard drive back in. The OS should reinstall the drivers. Is there any change?
