Hello,

I am a first time user of a MAC. I have a few questions.
first question: do I have to format "My Passport for MAC"?
2nd question: am I able to reassign where things are saved.

I bought the "My Passport" for MAC, does this version have to be "formatted" since its specifically for MAC?
also with my PC I was able to go in and specify where downloads are saved and where pictures, music, movies & everything else are saved- specifically to my external drive. I want to do the same with my MAC so I don't eat up the internal storage or have to use iCloud. I have moved my Pictures/iPhoto to the passport but when I go into the computer and delete the pictures, it deletes the pictures off the passport as well.

Hello,

if you plug in the passport you should see the icon on your desktop for it.

To change to default location for Safari you need to:
  • Choose safari > Preferences
  • Click General > Save downloaded files to > other
  • Navigate to location
  • Click close
