How old is it, barring you having done something that you havent told us about, and taking into account that spyware is a small possibilty, and you have antivirus. If it is a few years old you might have space issues or you need to defragment and maybe run a registry and clipboard etc clean. You can download CCleaner for most of it, it is free and very good. If you have xp defragmenting is easy, is kinda crap on vista though, im not sure if it even works
