Corrupted Canvas- Can you restore to a previous date?

Hello,

I am a computer animation student and recently I was working on a project in Paint Tool Sai (it was saved as photoshop canvas) and because of some problem I had with a custom brush, the entire canvas (192 layers) was corrupted and now most of them are blank... It was an animation that I had been working on and was nearly done. Is there anyway to restore a file back to a previous date?

The program is on an older HP laptop that runs windows if that makes any difference and the actual file was saved on a flash drive.
