The headphone jack on my computer has stopped working. I've looked for other articles, but everyone is just struggling with USB-headphones.
When I open the control panel on my Windows 7 laptop, and look under "Jack Information" the 3.5mm jack driver is missing. I've tried using windows update, and have come up empty. The only jack under "Jack Information" is an "Internal ATAPI Jack"
The speaker controller is "Realtek High Definition Audio"

Okay, I fixed it myself. Apparently, there's a trigger that gets stuck in the jack that tells the speakers to direct audio to the 3.5mm jack rather than the speakers.
