Asus audio jack not working [Closed]

Running Windows 8.
My Asus recently stopped working correctly, when I plug in a pair of headphones, one of 2 things happen:
No sound comes out of either headphone
Sound comes out of one headphone

The headphones are not the problem since I tried them out on my phone and other laptops, so I am assuming it is a problem with the audio card or something else.

Do you have updated audio driver for your pc?..
It is desktop or laptop?

It's a laptop.
All the drivers were updated and it still wasn't working.

Two reasons possible,
1) Run Malwarebytes
2) sound card faulty

I will check for the malwarebytes.
I think I will probably have to get a new sound card in the end.
