Hello, the laptop lets you get into bios and says what HDD drive is there with the assist button but when you power on it comes up a black screen saying no operating system but has win 8 installed and answers regards kevin

You should try to do a "start up repair" by booting from the Win 8 DVD. You might need to download a repair CD iso image if you don't have the DVD.

OR, you can upgrade to Win 10 by downloading and burning a DVD on another computer.
