Hello COBBINAH PAUL,
Can you see the light of the hard drive blinking? Also, can you hear the hard drive itself spinning? if you can't, then probably the drive may have failed mechanically. My suggestion is to take out the HDD from your laptop and to put it as an external one to another PC to see if it's working. If it is recognized there and it's spinning correctly, probably there's a failure in the power supply unit to the HDD.
If you feel uncomfortable doing any tests, you could bring your laptop to a technician to do the tests.
