Windows genuine crash

Hello,
my laptop gets the same messages, but this morning it just won't turn on, it asks me to resolve the problem now or later and whatever i choose it still logs on and then off instanteneously. ive got all my unyversity dissertation on my laptop and so i am sweating my balls off right now, any help would be appreciated

hi,
try this:
boot your computer from your Windows XP OS cd, when the menu comes up hit the R key to get to the recovery prompt.

The prompt should start off at C:\Windows. Type cd system32. The prompt should now read C:\Windows\system32

Type: copy userinit.exe wsaupdater.exe
