Hello there,

Warm greetings.

I have a HP laptop bought 7 months back. Yesterday while working on my laptop, I heard a blasting sound from my charger adapter. I got panic and immediately disconnect the charger from my laptop. There is a burnt smell also there in adapter which is still there today. I have tried plugging it in my laptop and its working fine as usual. Later yesterday i was trying to open the adapter to check whether its a big issue or something else. I couldn't open it. But while trying opening it, a circuit board on it got broken. But it still working fine. What would be the reason for that blast? Can i keep using the same adapter or should i go for a replacement? Kindly suggest me on this.

Thank you,

Guru

You need to replace the adapter.
