Have you checked the Power saving option in the Control panel? It might have been set to saving or "eco" mode instead of the Balanced one. Have you checked the power supply? It could be failing, that's why I recommend you to use the laptop firstly on the battery, then only on the charger. You could also see the power options in the BIOS menu by pressing the respective key to enter while booting.
Also, you can take out the battery, pull out the charge cable and wait for some minutes to discharge the elements from the electricity. After the time has passed, plug back all in and try to boot the lappy.
