TV laptop connection

Hello,


I am trying to connect my hp laptop to sony bravia through hdmi cable. I can hear the sound of what i am playing on laptop but i can not see the video. It is saying check your output, Unsupported signal. Please help

You might need to change the screen resolution on the laptop. Often a wide screen laptop will be out of the range of a TV.
